The American flag represents who we are and what we stand for. The first national American flag was sewed by Betsy Ross. Then in July 14, 1777 the continental congress adopted it as the national flag. There are 13 stripes to represent the first 13 colonies ,and 51 stars to represent the 51 states. White stands for purity ,and innocence, while blue stands for vigilance, perseverance ,and justice. Last, but not least red stands for hardness , valor and courage.
